As far as the old adage goes 90% preparation and 10% perspiration is especially true when it comes to painting. Key to any project completion is planning and key to painting any surface is preparation. With Rick Johnson’s 25 plus years of management, enough forethought goes into the project to be able to give out accurate timelines as well as directing the crew to work in an efficient manner.
Most homes need some extra prep work before the painting process starts. This usually includes caulking, priming, sanding and sometimes replacing or repairing. When it comes to exterior painting, often power washing is needed in order for the paint to adhere properly. This work is often with the home owner in the bidding process.
An ounce of preparation is worth a pound of your things not getting painted. With the advent of airless paint sprayers not painting things have become just as important as what gets painted. Before we start painting we will often rearrange light furniture so that it is out of harms way. We also use drop clothes, masking tape and paper, and plastic sheeting to protect flooring, windows and anything else we need to be careful about getting painted.
We keep the bidding process a low pressure enjoyable experience. We come out to listen to the client’s needs and wants. We give guidance where requested and assist the best we can in getting an accurate picture of what the client wants. We take down all this information and give back an itemized list of requirements and prices.
